Ruthie McDaniel
Ruthie McDaniel holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Management with an emphasis in Finance. She has dedicated more than 33 years to federal service, including eight years as an active-duty member of the United States Marine Corps, where her responsibilities included training Marines, fiscal and disbursing operations, and career development.
She also served three years with the Department of Defense as a Career Resource Development and Relocation Specialist, followed by over 22 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs supporting Veterans.
Throughout her career, Ruthie has worked extensively in workforce development and human resources, transition services for active-duty personnel, and coordination with community partners to support Veteran care. She has held leadership roles including Operations Manager of Mental Health, with responsibility for both CARF and The Joint Commission accreditations. Her expertise spans quality, compliance, and performance improvement, as well as oversight of health and safety, fiscal operations, emergency management, strategic planning, and logistics.
Ruthie has also served as a CARF Surveyor for approximately ten years. In her consulting work, she partners with organizations serving individuals with mental health challenges, helping them strengthen service delivery through high-quality care practices, effective policy implementation, program evaluation, and meaningful community collaboration. She is particularly passionate about how organizational culture influences outcomes and long-term success.
In addition to her professional work, Ruthie has served as an educator at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels, teaching both bachelor’s and master’s students.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys reading mystery novels—especially those by James Patterson—participating in church activities, traveling with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy is her two-year-old grandson.
While she has received numerous professional and personal awards, Ruthie defines success as “helping others achieve worthwhile goals that positively impact their lives and the lives of others.” She believes that helping others succeed is the ultimate reward—“dessert after dinner, calorie-free.”
